How to Choose FPV Motor KV for 4S or 6S
KV describes unloaded motor speed per volt; it does not independently prove that a motor is safe on a given battery.
Motor / KV → Battery S → ESC current / S → Prop diameter / pitch / blades → Battery
How does voltage affect motor speed?
A higher cell count raises nominal voltage, so the same KV produces a higher theoretical unloaded speed. Use only the battery cell counts listed for the exact motor variant.
Is a KV value enough to choose a motor?
No. Frame size, propeller load, required thrust, motor limits and ESC current also matter. StartX returns a match only when the variant contains confirmed KV and S data.
